The one who was missing

A shepherd counted his sheep at dusk, and one was gone. He did not shrug and call the ninety-nine enough.

He walked back into the dark hill until he heard a small cry. He lifted the sheep onto his shoulders and came home.

Jesus told this so you would know you are not forgotten when you feel far away. Rest now. You are carried.
